The University of Hawaiʻi's Commitment to a Healthier Hawaiʻi and Pacific

UHealthy Hawaiʻi is an initiative to leverage the University of Hawaiʻi (UH) System to improve health and health care in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.

The UH System has significant health sciences programs that collectively play an essential role in educating Hawaiʻi’s health workforce
and addressing the health challenges facing Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.

Established from listening sessions across the UH System and the community, UHealthy Hawaiʻi focuses on four priority areas, as described below.

UHealthy Hawaiʻi is pleased to have the support of numerous UH and community partners.

Please see “Partners” page for the full list.

The University of Hawaiʻi (UH) System Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Equity (CIIHE) aims to advance Indigenous innovation (the application of traditional Indigenous knowledge, practices, and methodologies to contemporary problems) as a tool for health equity in Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) populations. For more details, please visit our Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Equity page (click here).

Inspired by community needs, we use policy strategies to improve health across geographies
